Vertical brushstrokes arc downward in rough repetition. Paint splatters and circular patterns fill the surface with a distinctive black oval shape sitting in upper center. The surface is built up with many layers of paint and shavings from paint scrapings. Paint over the ink has also created a gritty bubbly texture.
