There is a suggestion of illusional space, but the surface treatment of paint reminds the viewer of the flat nature of painting. An exploration of the color green mixed with blues, yellows, white, and gray occupy two thirds of the painting. The grassy shaped greens contrast with the red and sienna of the Bison forms while almost burying them. An undulating cerulean blue band suggests a sky which compliments and calms the multitude of mark making.
